The SU Institutional Repository is the official online repository of the
Silliman University Library System. The University’s digital repository
of its cultural and historical resources of research value. This
institutional repository will highlight these important resources with
the novel geotagging technology.

The use and management of the institutional repository will be governed
by the following policies, terms, and conditions:
1. The Silliman University Library will manage the repository.
2. All items of the university deemed of historical and cultural
significance and with research value are ideally and fully encouraged to
be included and entered into the digital repository; however, it will be
of the discretion of the office head, dean, director, curator,
custodian, keeper, or officer of the physical or actual item, or the SU
Admin regarding the inclusion of such items to the repository or as to
what extent these items will be available.
3. Silliman University Library will work closely with the University
Property Custodian, Vice President for Finance, and Buildings and
Grounds Department in the indexing and geotagging of the university
items, materials, buildings, paintings, sculptures, landmarks,
artifacts, and the like.
4. All items included in the digital repository are for the purpose of
research and reference to any user. It will still be at the discretion
and approval of the office head, dean, director, curator, custodian,
keeper, or officer of the actual and physical item, or the SU Admin of
the item regarding onsite personal visits and view, reading and
scanning, taking of video and photography, reproduction, and
loan/borrow.
5. The contents of the repository relating to the sensitivity of the
information, confidentiality (classified information), and ethical
considerations will also be at the preference, volition, and judgment of
the office head, dean, director, curator, custodian, keeper, or officer
of the actual item or material or the SU Admin, including the decisions
of the Research and Ethics Committee and the Research and Development
Center.
6. Only students, SU admin, faculty and staff, and alumni can access the
repository through their su.edu.ph accounts without any fee. Visitors
will need to pay a certain fee to access the online repository.
7. Use of the digitized materials, including distribution, printing, and
storing (electronic image of text or text and graphics that looks like a
printed document and can be viewed, printed, and electronically
transmitted), is for educational and research purposes only and within
the university’s academic and research activities. Outside use of the
digital content of the repository, including research or studies not
connected to the university, would need the approval of the office head,
dean, director, curator, custodian, keeper, officer, or SU Admin. If
approved, a proper acknowledgment and citation/reference will be
required.
8. Any person or institution sale, monetization, and unapproved
distribution, and illegal reproduction of the digital content of the
repository will be held legally liable.
9. Any misuse (digital vandalism, offensive humor, mockery, derogatory
handling, phishing, and the like) of the digital content is also
unacceptable. Proper sanctions on the perpetrators will be taken by the
university.
10. Hacking the system is a serious offense. Also, illegal login (or the
use of an account of another) is also a serious offense. Sharing of your
account to another will also be sanctioned.
